Partners: CIDA
MiCrédito is partnering with CIDA through MEDA's Produmer project. Produmer aims to strengthen the performance of the Nicaraguan sesame industry by assisting smallholder sesame producers and their families to improve productivity and competitiveness. The project provides production and marketing services. Production services consist of technical assistance and training in the area of production techniques and practices, aimed at greater economic yields, organic methodology and certification, and improving seed quality. Marketing services are aimed at improving the organization of producer groups, integrating them formally into production and marketing chains, and developing traceability and quality systems. MiCrédito makes available loans to Produmer clients to finance their operations.

The project is operating in the Leon Norte and Chinandega regions in western Nicaragua. The project is founded on the principles of partnerships, participation, diversification, risk reduction, and sustainability.
