Mission Statement
MiCrédito provides appropriate and sustainable credit services to micro and small urban and rural businesses and producers that have limited or no access to credit through the formal financial system. The target market is the micro-entrepreneur, both business owner and rural producer, who need a small loan to make or enhance their living conditions either by trading, providing services in the market place, manufacturing or producing food stock. MiCrédito will provide its credit services through industry-leading client services, innovative processes, quick credit decisions and profitable operations.
Vision Statement
MiCrédito’s vision is to establish a profitable and sustainable financial institution in Nicaragua with national coverage in key locations in order to serve small urban and rural businesses and producers. It plans to provide at least 60% of its loan portfolio to rural borrowers and hopes to become one of the top ten unregulated micro-finance institutions by portfolio size in Nicaragua by 2012. This is in line with the Mennonite Economic Development Associates’ (MEDA) mission to alleviate poverty through the establishment of conditions for income generation and employment creation.
